We get a peek into God’s point of view when it comes to allowing suffering in our lives. While we will never truly know why this or that was allowed to come upon us, the Word of God offers comfort through this concept of the refiner’s fire as a path to intimacy, fellowship, and righteousness before God. Is not this the end goal of every believer’s longing heart? Closeness with Him who loves our souls?
Prayer, the right way
We may or may never see the end result we are hoping for in our prayers. We trust that God sees, hears, knows, and will act according to his justice one day.
If we must suffer, suffer well
It feels counter intuitive to our flesh that leaning into God could possibly resolve our inner turmoil. The wisdom of the unbelieving world might call that "sticking your head in the sand" or "being in denial". But I found from experience that getting out of my own head truly was the antidote to this inner turmoil.
