Story of a Soul – Read this book!

Today is a very special day, it is a day to remember Saint Therese of Lisieux.

there is much to say about her and the simple and humble life she led, but I have to tell you how much she has become like a friend to me. Her spiritual autobiography Story of  Soul is the result of her older sister’s wish for her to write about her spiritual journey with Jesus. I think I have read it about 3 or 4 times from beginning to end, and it just fills me with so much joy and enthusiasm for loving Jesus that it could only be filled with the Holy Spirit.

How lovingly she speaks of her savior. Where some Saints’ autobiographies incense in me a  helpless feeling that I couldn’t attain to such holiness, For some reason Saint Therese speaks to me in volumes. Not that it is her, but of course it is God who speaks through her.

If anyone has an itch to read something fulfilling and absolutely dripping with scripture, you won’t be disappointed with Story of  Soul. It is sweet, tender, honest, and completely God-honoring.
