31 Yet those who [a]wait for the Lord
Will gain new strength;
They will [b]mount up with [c]wings like eagles,
They will run and not get tired,
They will walk and not become weary. Isa 40:31 NASB
How do you run and not get tired? Or walk and not become weary after a while? How do we fly on eagles’ wings?
The answer is that we can’t.
Not with our own human strength, that is. But those who “wait for the lord” get a new kind of strength, one that we are not used to. It’s the type of strength that comes from a wholly separate power; not from our own efforts, but from the Lord’s. Divine strength comes to those who are humbled by their weakness.
So nice to know on a Monday!
