As we rise this morning to jump into all our Christmas preparations and activity, let us all take a moment to pause for joy.
Take joy in the fact that Jesus has come to make a way for us to the Father.
Take joy that all the wrongs will be made right in the end.
Take joy in Jesus, who “though he was God, He did not think of equality with God as something to cling to” (Phil 2:6)
Today, when that one relative makes an unkind comment, or the traffic is bad, or the plans change last minute, set your mind on Jesus.
The people who walk in darkness
Isaiah 9:2,6-7 NLT
will see a great light…
For a child is born to us,
a son is given to us.
The government will rest on his shoulders.
And he will be called:
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
His government and its peace
will never end.
He will rule with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David
for all eternity.
The passionate commitment of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies
will make this happen!
Wishing you all a warm and faith filled Christmas!
