Joshua sends two spies to check out the land near Jericho. They come to Rahab, who hides them and makes a deal to help them conquer Jericho if they agree to spare her family. Rahab has heard of the acts of the Lord of Israel and casts her lot with them.

Observation

The eyes of the world watch and see what the Lord does for us. We never know what others can see and are noticing. When God did great things for Israel in Egypt and in the desert they were not hidden, even from a prostitute in Canaan. Rahab is to become a foremother of Jesus.

Application

Don’t be afraid to share what the Lord has done for us

Don’t feel bullied into remaining silent about the hope you have in the Lord
