ALL of scripture is inspired by God and worthy for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16).

And yet, the Lord said to Joshua - "Do not be afraid of them. By this time tomorrow I will hand all of them over to Israel as dead men” (11:6). So Israel traveled to the water near Merom and attacked suddenly. And the Lord gave them victory over their enemies.

Joshua 10

“Do not be afraid of them,” the Lord said to Joshua, “for I have given you victory over them. Not a single one of them will be able to stand up to you.”

We promised them in the presence of the God of Israel. We can’t lay a hand on them now. But we can do this: We will let them live so we don’t get blamed for breaking our promise.

They set up memory stones to remind themselves of what the Lord did for them there, in order that their children would ask and provide an opportunity to pass on stories of all the good deeds the Lord has done for them.
